Well it has finally arrived the first update on the 1.41 release of the ATS and It concludes the Convoy release, convoy is multiplayer for the ATS so you can play with 8 other truckers as you drive your deliveries.
For the moment they released it with 8 players however they did say they will make it bigger in the near future as they are still working on this process while running and getting feedback from the players.
and yes there is traffic and every admin who hosts the game can set up the conditions of the game at that point.
So what can you experience with this? well, they said this:
- Any player can host and create their own private sessions for up to 8 people
- Ability to haul the same contracts/jobs together from the same company and to the same destination
- Synchronized AI traffic
- Synchronized time and weather
- Synchronized paint jobs, truck accessories, cabin accessories, cargoes, and more
- Ability to communicate with other drivers via CB radio broadcast (X key), quick replies (Q key), or text chat (Y key)
and of course here are also some things to remember for now what is not implemented into the convoy as of yet:
- Mods in Convoy mode are not supported in the initial release.
- AI vehicles might disappear when a player disconnects.
- Lifting bridges are not synchronized. They will be stationary for the initial release of Convoy.
- When using an owned trailer, there might be a company trailer spawned in the same location you are supposed to go to to load your cargo.
- Steam invites work only through the Steam overlay.
- CB radio broadcast (hotkey “X”) interferes with the text input line.
- The on-screen map in Convoy “M” zooms out together with chat scrolling in the Route Advisor.
however for single players, there is also good news, California has been reskinned, roads have been rework, and new agriculture stations.
And that means:
All drivers hauling goods into the state will have to undergo special checks from the control station where vehicles are inspected for commodities that may be infested with invasive species, and for the correct documentation.
Also, the photo mode has also been updated, you can now control the time and weather conditions.
So in this case, if you want to do a photoshoot of your moment you can now change the time from daylight to nightfall or change the weather into a dry to a rainy day.
Also, some tiny things have also been added like fast travel and new icons.
So many things to explore right now.
